The Project: Sandiego.gov

Re-designing the Sandiego.gov Website

Based on user interviews and usability testing I have refreshed the website to be more user friendly, lessening numerous pain points from the user experience.  Read an in depth analysis of the problems and solutions in the case study.

The case study highlights three main problems found during user testing of the site including inadequate search results, which is a problem because it leads to frustration, disappointment and ultimately abandonment of the site.  I have re-designed the site so the search topic in the user testing is no longer buried. The second issue highlighted is the lack of sorting filters on mobile. There isn't a date relevance option. I have re-designed this so user can see the most recent information. The third problem highlighted is the lack of uniform design for call to action signifiers. This is a problem because the user craves consistency. She has an expectation of how something should work and relies upon consistent design to meet that expectation. My solutions are included in the case study (link below).
